We’re very pleased to announce that Jaap Waijer will be starting his graduation internship with us for his master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management.
Jaap is currently in the last phase of his master’s programme ‘Industrial Engineering and Management’ at the University of Groningen. During his graduation internship with us, he will be researching new techniques and technologies to make the industrial laundry business more sustainable. We’re very excited to work with Jaap!
Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM)
During their programme, students of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) learn how to tackle practical challenges in the industry. The programme’s focus lies on inventing new solutions for sustainability issues from a technical and scientific design perspective.
During the last year and a half of his master’s in IEM, Jaap has studied various methods and tools that serve to analyse and improve techniques and logistical systems in the corporate world. His internship with us will be the last phase of his master’s programme, in which he can apply his knowledge to practical challenges within our expertise.
Internship goal
During his graduation internship, Jaap will be working on a problem analysis, a research plan and a design plan. The goal of Jaap’s research is to reduce CO2 (also known as carbon dioxide) emission in the industrial laundry sector. One approach to this is integrating new complementary systems, compatible with TBR’s current sustainability solutions. We’ll be monitoring Jaap’s progress closely to work towards a fossil-free solution. When reducing the use of fossil fuels, our focus also lies on further saving energy and water to reach the most sustainable low-cost solution. As Jaap continues his research, we’ll be providing additional information about his results.
A warm welcome and good luck to Jaap!
