Heat X Rotor (formerly EMS Rotor)
Self-cleaning heat exchanger for contaminated wastewater
The Heat X Rotor – previously known as the EMS Rotor – is the solution for companies looking to recover heat from contaminated wastewater while simultaneously saving energy. This innovative rotating heat exchanger efficiently cools wastewater by heating clean water in the process: a smart and sustainable way of energy recovery.
The Heat X Rotor is the new name of the trusted EMS Rotor. The technology and operation remain unchanged, but the new name better aligns the system with current market needs and applications.
The Heat X Rotor is widely applicable and suitable for various industries, such as textiles, paints, food processing, paper, and laundry services.
How does it work?
The operation of the Heat X Rotor is surprisingly simple yet highly effective. Warm wastewater flows by gravity into a stainless steel reservoir, without the need for a pump. Inside this tank, a shaft with discs rotates through which clean water flows.
This rotating shaft continuously ensures:
- Turbulence, keeping contamination in motion and preventing build-up
- Optimal heat transfer, resulting in high efficiency
- Any contamination that still adheres to the surface is automatically removed through the combination of a smooth surface and centrifugal force. This makes the system fully self-cleaning.
Benefits at a glance:
- No impact on the existing production process
- Easy to integrate into both new and existing installations
- Self-cleaning system
- High efficiency with a payback period of only 0.5 to 3 years
- No wastewater pump required
- No filters required
