We’re very pleased to announce that Jaap Waijer will be undertaking his graduation internship with us for his master’s in Industrial Engineering and Management!
Jaap is currently in the last phase of his master’s programme ‘Industrial Engineering and Management’ at the University of Groningen. During his graduation internship with us, he will be researching new techniques and technologies that make the industrial laundry business more sustainable. We’re very excited to work with Jaap!
Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM)
During their studies, students from the master’s program Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) learn how to handle practical issues in the industry. The focus lies on finding new solutions for sustainability issues from a technical and scientifical design perspective.
During the last year and a half of his master’s in IEM, Jaap has studied various methods and tools with which production techniques and logistical systems in the corporate world can be analysed and improved. His internship with us will be the last phase of his master’s programme, where he can put his knowledge to practical use on a challenge within our expertise.
Internship goal
During his graduation internship Jaap will be continually working on a problem analysis, a research plan and a design plan. The goal of Jaap’s research is to reduce Co2 (also called carbon dioxide) emission in the industrial laundry sector. One approach to this is integrating new complementary systems, compatible with TBR’s current sustainability solutions. We’ll be closely monitoring Jaap’s progress to work towards a fossil-free solution. When reducing the use of fossil fuels, our focus also lies on further saving energy and water to reach the most sustainable low-cost solution. As Jaap continues his research, we’ll be providing additional information about his results.
A warm welcome and good luck to Jaap!
