TBR Solutions will modernize a number of processes in the concrete industry at the IJB mortar plant in Lelystad.
Project under construction
IJB Group
IJB Group is a specialist in the field of foundations, from probes, design to the production and delivery of prefab concrete elements. At IJB Group, they take corporate social responsibility very seriously. IJB recently received the gold CSC certification for sustainable production of concrete. This certification has three levels for the concrete industry: bronze, silver and gold. In addition to safety, reliability, honesty, expertise, sustainability and health, the certification includes clauses about the origin of raw materials and the CO2 performance ladder.
IJB Mortar
IJB Group has three well-equipped power plants at its disposal for the production of ready-mixed concrete. These are located in Lemmer, Emmeloord and Lelystad. At the beginning of October 2018, IJB Mortar commissioned a new concrete plant in Lelystad. The production of piles was also conceived at the new production location in Lelystad at that time.
Customer question
IJB Group has approached TBR Solutions with a number of optimization issues including water supply, distribution, control and storage. IJB did not choose TBR Solutions on a whim. Their multidisciplinary approach, the customer being approached with a completed project and a visit to the TBR location in Gieten were the deciding factors. After the request from IJB Group, an inspection took place. The current situation has been inventoried by the engineers at TBR Solutions. The existing installations no longer meet the current requirements in terms of operational reliability and the aim is to achieve a clear piping plan.
Activities
The following solution has been devised via TBR: TBR places a water storage for process water of 75.000 litres, provides a frequency-controlled distribution set, hot water production and takes care of installation and control. By using preheated process water for heated concrete, IJB Mortar can produce a more stable mixture, which is certainly advantageous for the winter months! During the production of piles at the same location, the preheated mortar ensures efficient demoulding of the piles, so that the desired production goals can be optimized. Thanks to the innovative solution from TBR Solutions, a more manageable production process is realised and more piles are available from the concrete industry for the new construction of, among other things, commercial buildings and homes.
The controls from TBR Remote Support provide TBR Solutions with remote assistance that can be offered in the event of possible calamities. This prevents unnecessarily long delays in the event of any malfunctions.
Technical details:
- Water storage, using a 75.000 litre stainless steel tank for the storage of process water. A circular approach has been specifically sought out for this purpose.
- Distribution of water from the 75.000 litre tank for the different processes by means of a speed-controlled pump set.
- Preheating process water for the production of concrete in the plant. This means that dumping can take place regardless of the outside temperature by controlling the mixture temperature.
- Control with TBR Remote Support, which allows TBR to provide remote service.
- Renewing the high-pressure cleaning installation for cleaning the mixer, among other things.
